We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team in the software industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for software products, APIs, user guides, release notes, and online help content. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and customer support to translate complex technical information into user-friendly documents that meet the needs of various audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

● Documentation Creation: Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, API documentation, system guides, release notes, and troubleshooting guides.
● Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and UX designers to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
● Content Strategy: Design and implement documentation strategies, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency, clarity, and ease of use.
● User-Focused Writing: Create content that helps end-users (both technical and non-technical) understand and use software products effectively.
● Manage Documentation Tools: Maintain document repositories and content management systems, ensuring version control, updates, and efficient retrieval.
● Edit & Proofread: Review and edit existing content for style, accuracy, and grammar while ensuring technical precision.
● Maintain Style Guides: Ensure that all documentation adheres to established style guides and content standards (e.g., tone, voice, terminology consistency).
● Release Support: Write release notes and update documentation according to product updates and version releases.
● Research: Stay current with industry best practices in technical writing and software documentation to continuously improve content quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
● 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the software or IT industry.
● Strong understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and familiarity with software engineering terms and concepts.
● Experience with API documentation and related tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman).
● Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Word, MadCap Flare, Confluence, Jira, Adobe Acrobat, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
● Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and documentation publishing platforms.
● Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong eye for detail and technical accuracy.
● Ability to quickly learn new software tools, systems, and products.
● Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
● Experience with Markdown, HTML, CSS, and basic scripting languages is a plus.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience in writing for SaaS products, APIs, or cloud-based software.
● Experience in using video or screen capture tools to create multimedia documentation or tutorials.
● Experience with localization of documentation for international audiences.
